This is my life

Well it has come to me that I am officially going to be enjoying the world of programming a lot.  I have started my Java class and already think it will be a great, fun, and enjoyable class.  Along with this I am taking a basic Database Concepts.
Beginning Java will teach the beginning of Java and just doing basic things, but will be a lot better then doing Visual Basic.  I know that Java isn't the easiest thing but I understand things way different then I expected to.
Database Concepts is a nice basic beginning Database class.  Most of the class will be talking about doing Queries, which with Java could make some really nice programs to be able to change information inside of a database.
Other things going on are that I have begun to do what I didn't think I'd do and have started an Apple/Mac collection.  A fellow co-worker gave me a Powerbook G3 Wall Street, and a Powermac G4.  Along with this another co-worker has offered to sell me a 2.0Ghz Powermac G5 with a 23inch Studio display, for a very nice price.  So in time I will begin to do some pictures, and maybe if I get myself up to it, are some videos.  Until next time, which hopefully will be sooner then this update.

Case issues

So I'm trying to find a good case to go with that dual socket 604 EATX motherboard but don't know of anything that isn't HUGE.  I am looking for small but usable.
I'm also in search of good SATA cards that can be used with this system to be able to have better SATA support.
From now on I can say I will spend the extra money and get myself a workstation everytime.

Changes

Well I'm officially going to be going into Network Specialist Degree, hopefully this Fall, and have decided at the moment to learn Server 2008 and Linux.  The best part about this also is I've been trying to work out my own network at home to be able to get everything nice and organized at home finally.
First off, I've gotten a Dual Xeon 2.8Ghz with 4GB of memory, all for free that was going to be thrown out at my job.  I right away made sure it would boot and wow did it boot well.  Started to do some testing onto it and research but barely able to find anything about the board itself, E7505VB2.  All I know is it has dual Socket 604 and AGP 8X.  It is a fast board and I love it.

So in turn, my desktop now, which is a dual-core AMD, with 2GB of memory will becoming my HTPC with bluray playback and TV tuner.

The Dual Xeons will actually become my desktop, and cannot wait.  Running XP it is a beast, using a 6800XT with 512MB ram is a great card with it, and it can play all my games that I love.

My home server will be a dual core atom microatx board that allows dual channel memory.  Great little board with SATA 2 and other great features for a server.

Now the fun part is to get time.

Snow Leopard

It's great to see that Apple is doing this nicely and cheaply. With it really not being tons of main features they didn't need to put it any higher then they had it. To get it will be nice and cheap and allow older intel macs to be used to their full power.
Added features include:
New Quicktime
Better support for multi-core CPUs
Built in exchange support.
Smaller install but everything is still there.
Core apps are now going to be 64-bit, thankfully this will help almost everyone.

All this for a whole $29, this could make Microsoft have to rethink their ammount for Windows 7. Lets see how this changes and helps out the Mac Mini.

Mac Mini Life

Mac Mini life will become a community based website where people can show off projects, give tutorials about projects that can be done, and talk about anything related to the Mac Mini.

The Mac Mini has been and most likely will be a worthy computer for most of America and most of the world. I've been able to work on the insides of one Mac Mini and since that day, I've gotten addicted to what it is and what that little machine can do.

So welcome to a new community for us all, this will be hosted here for a bit but slowly will be migrated to a normal website with the ability to talk in forums, give tutorials and find information about the mac mini.
