The untitled post.

Well it seems like I really should start to use this more often.  This might be a good way of getting my ideas for the future and my knowledge and trials with Windows, Linux, and maybe Mac OS.
The latest news I could say right now is that I can officially say that programming is my future and I love it.  Mainly learning Java right now but looking into learning some PERL and some python seeing my work uses that as a bunch of their primary language.  Along with this I have officially been given a promotion and will be starting this position in the beginning of next year and looking forward to the future.
The first project I'm looking at finally completing is getting my home server totally running.  I am looking at ClearOS a lot lately and find it not a bad OS however it has a learning curve that I'm not used to yet.  I have done trials with Ubuntu and Debian and have liked using both of them but I find certain things of them to be not as easy to use, but maybe I should stick with Debian seeing many places use it.  Along with this I am looking at making my power mac G5 a web server, or something else but have no idea what should use it for right now.
The other exciting news is I maybe building a new desktop sooner then I expected.  Looking at a Intel Core i7 3820, socket 2011.  I love my laptop but lately this NVidia GTX650m is acting up and causes random issues.  Oh well until next time.

This is my life

Well it has come to me that I am officially going to be enjoying the world of programming a lot.  I have started my Java class and already think it will be a great, fun, and enjoyable class.  Along with this I am taking a basic Database Concepts.
Beginning Java will teach the beginning of Java and just doing basic things, but will be a lot better then doing Visual Basic.  I know that Java isn't the easiest thing but I understand things way different then I expected to.
Database Concepts is a nice basic beginning Database class.  Most of the class will be talking about doing Queries, which with Java could make some really nice programs to be able to change information inside of a database.
Other things going on are that I have begun to do what I didn't think I'd do and have started an Apple/Mac collection.  A fellow co-worker gave me a Powerbook G3 Wall Street, and a Powermac G4.  Along with this another co-worker has offered to sell me a 2.0Ghz Powermac G5 with a 23inch Studio display, for a very nice price.  So in time I will begin to do some pictures, and maybe if I get myself up to it, are some videos.  Until next time, which hopefully will be sooner then this update.
